The project team of the Centre for Youth Your Serbia conducted the selection of secondary schools to participate in workshops on the safety of young people within the project “Safe Youth – Safer Serbia”. Although the budget of the project allows the implementation of 10 workshops, the project team, in a good coordination with the contact persons of schools that applied, managed to organize the participation of as many as 13 high schools from Leskovac, Nis, Lapovo, Krupanj, Ruma, Pancevo, Becej, Novi Sad, Backa Topola and Bor.
More than 60 high schools from all over Serbia applied to the open call which announced only 10 available places. This speaks about the great importance and benefit that young high school students in Serbia have from the workshops in this project. To a large extent, it also speaks about the necessity to implement more projects in this area, especially in rural parts of Serbia.
During the selection process of secondary schools to participate in the project, the project team was respectful of equal regional representation, as well as equal participation of secondary schools located in rural areas. In this way, we will include about 200 young people living in rural areas in the project activities.
The workshops start November 3, 2014.
