Belgrade, Decembar 14, 2012 – In the framework of the project “Healthy Serbia – Love Life” of the Centre for Youth Your Serbia, in primary and secondary schools across Serbia the “Day of love” was marked. On this occasion the students painted works on the subject of love, joy and happiness. Students of the Elementary School “Josif Pancic” and high school “Artimedia” in Belgrade were able to show their emotions through drawings with the help of the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Youth and Sport Nenad Borovcanin, Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Education Zoran Kostic, German artist Mike Kuhlmann and the director of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra Ivan Tasovac. The most beautiful works will be sent to the children of Europe in the form of e-cards on December 24.
The aim of the project is to promote love, compassion and individual responsibility for health, and the “Day of love” was created with the aim to encourage children to actively show what they love and to share that with others through their drawings.
“Dear children, teachers, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Michael Kuhlmann, it gives me great pleasure to be here with you today, when you paint what you feel and what you believe is joy. Make your buddies, friends and neighbors laugh and make their lives more beautiful. With this campaign we want to share the joy with kids around the world and through works to promote positive values, joy and happiness”, said the State Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Nenad Borovcanin.
“Healthy Serbia – Love Life is a campaign that promotes the core values of healthy and quality life, community, society and family and that’s why I was particularly pleased to see the children and young people actively involved in the implementation of these ideas. Today we tried to express our love through drawing and children and young people know how to do that, but they need a little support to free themselves, recognize their emotion and share it with others. I believe that this project will stay in the memory of many who are here today and that it will motivate them to express their beautiful emotions and thus make their environment a better place to live” said Mike Kuhlmann, the creator of the project.
The audience was addressed by the Deputy Minister of Education Zoran Kostic, who said that the ministry supports any action that contributes to health and joy”. Let your work be in bright colors, in order to send a message to all the children in the world that they have a reason to rejoice”.
Art contest was announced in all schools throughout Serbia in the period from 14th to 20th December 2012. Youth Offices’ Coordinators provided support to the campaign and the implementation of these actions by collecting the works with the theme of joy, archiving and sending them to Belgrade, where they will be exhibited throughout the city, as a part of the Festival of Healthy Serbia in May 2013.
The creator of “Healthy Serbia – Love Life”, German artist Mike Kuhlmann initiated the campaign with the Centre for Youth “Your Serbia” and with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Hemofarm Foundation and IFMSA – International committee of medical students.
