Centre for Youth Your Serbia in partnership with the Home for children and youth with mental dissabilities „Sremcica“ launched the project “School of Artistic Skills”. During the project, every Tuesday young people with disabilities, are participating in creative workshops in the field of acting, dancing, singing and painting, along with young people from general population. At the same time young participants socialize and learn new skills. At the acting classes, which are led by young actress Mirjana Trebinjac, young people learn how to open up, express their emotions; they free themselves from constraints and shame, connect with peers and develop friendly relations. Great atmosphere is present at singing lessons, led by Milos Markovic – singer and singing teacher. In these classes, young participants are taught lyrics and melody of the song which will be performed at a mutual performance at the end of the project. Dance classes, led by a well-known dancer Toma Djordjevic, contribute to the development of teamwork through mutual learning of the choreography, step by step, which will be crowned with a performance at the end of the project. Painting workshops for young people are particularly enjoyable. Classes are led by professor of scenography and fine arts Magdalena Vlajic. Participants experiment with different forms of visual art, from tempera paint to work with wax crayons. Centre for Youth Your Serbia expresses its gratitude to the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe, who recognized the importance of this kind of activities and made this project possible.
